Frequently Asked Questions
What should my child bring to lessons?
Your child needs togs, a towel, swim cap and goggles. Armbands are not required. Children who require a swim nappy must wear one. Bring a €1 coin for the locker (it’s returnable). Swim caps and goggles are available to purchase at reception if needed.
What happens if my child misses a lesson?
Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer make-up lessons or refunds for missed classes as instructor costs and pool time are committed for the full term. If your child will be absent, please let us know in advance so we can note it on their record. If they miss Assessment Week (Week 6), we’ll do our best to assess them in Week 7.
How do level moves work?
Instructors assess each child during Week 6 of the term. If your child has met all the competencies for their current level, they’ll be recommended to move up. You’ll see the assessment results on the Parent Portal and receive an email with feedback.
Children progress at their own pace. Some may stay in a level for more than one term, and that’s completely normal. The goal is confident, safe swimming at every stage.
How does the waiting list work?
When a level or time slot is full, new applicants are placed on a waiting list. We work through the list as spots become available. You’ll be contacted via email and WhatsApp when a place opens up. Existing students re-enrolling for the next term get priority, so we recommend applying early.
What if my child is placed in the wrong level?
It happens. If your child seems too advanced or is struggling in their group, speak to their instructor or contact us. We can arrange a quick assessment and move them to a more suitable level. It’s best to raise this in the first two weeks of term so your child gets the most from their lessons.
Do parents need to stay during lessons?
Parents of children in Preschool and Beginner 1 must remain in the viewing area during lessons. For all other levels, parents should drop off and collect their child promptly at the end of the session. Please stay off the pool deck unless necessary for medical reasons.
Is there a sibling discount?
Yes, families enrolling 3 or 4 siblings receive a 10% discount on the total. Just mention it in the application form and we’ll apply the discount when processing payment.
Can my child join mid-term?
In most cases, enrolment is at the start of each term. However, if a space becomes available mid-term and the timing works, we may be able to accommodate your child with a pro-rata payment. Apply using the form above and we’ll be in touch.
